Very predictable result when sixth ranked Visby Ladies (8-10) won against on the road 11th ranked Umea Comets (4-14) 74-65 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 10 points after three quarters before their 27-8 charge, which allowed them to win the game. It was a very good performance for American guard Jeannie Saunders (173-86, college: Salem Intern.) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals. Her fellow American import swingman Ashleigh Brown (183-87, college: Miami, OH) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Four Visby Ladies players scored in double figures. American forward Kara Murphy (172-88, college: Akron) answered with 23 points and 5 rebounds and Serbian-Croatian power forward Tanja Licina (188-85, college: Rhode Island) added 16 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Umea Comets. Umea Comets' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Visby Ladies maintains sixth place with 8-10 record. Loser Umea Comets keep the eleventh position with 14 games lost. Visby Ladies are looking forward to face higher ranked Mark Basket (#4) in Kinna in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Umea Comets will play at home against Norrkoping Dolphins (#7) and are hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
