Very important is a road loss of third ranked AEK (10-6) against sixth ranked Arkadikos (9-7) on Saturday night. Visiting AEK was defeated by Arkadikos in Arkadia 82-69. AEK was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Arkadikos made 22-of-27 charity shots (81.5 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. Arkadikos players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. AEK was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Andronikos Gizogiannis (200-83, agency: FCM) who helped to win the game recording 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Giorgos Kopsaftis (192-83, agency: FCM) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Four Arkadikos players scored in double figures. Center Dimitris Despos (209-76, agency: FCM) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds and guard Antonis Mantzaris (196-86) added 17 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for AEK. Arkadikos moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams. AEK at the other side keeps the third position with six games lost. They share it with Ikaroi Serron. Arkadikos will play against bottom-ranked AEK/Argous (#16) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. AEK will play against the league's second-placed Apollon Patras (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
