Very important is a home loss of second ranked Bulleen Boomers (12-5) against sixth ranked Bendigo Spirit (11-8) on Saturday night. Host Bulleen Boomers were defeated by Bendigo Spirit in Melbourne 74-56. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Bulleen Boomers. The game without a history. Bendigo Spirit led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was an exceptional evening for international swingman Tess Madgen (180-90) who led the winners and scored 19 points and 8 rebounds. The former international guard Deanna Smith (179-80) accounted for 15 points for the winning side. Four Bendigo Spirit players scored in double figures. Bendigo Spirit's coach Bernie Harrower used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international center Liz Cambage (203-91) came up with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds and the former international guard Samantha Richards (167-83) added 14 points respectively for Bulleen Boomers in the defeat. Bendigo Spirit moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Sydney UF and Dandenong R. Defending champion Bulleen Boomers keep the second position with five games lost. Bendigo Spirit will play against league's leader Adelaide Lightning at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Bulleen Boomers will play against Logan Thunder in Loganholme and hope to get back on the winning track.
