Etendard de Brest (#9) forced the game against Blois (#4) into an overtime, but lost by two points 92-94 on Saturday night. The hosts trailed by 12 points after three quarters before their 27-15 charge, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time and get a 2-point victory in overtime. Blois forced 19 Etendard de Brest turnovers. Finnish forward Ville Kaunisto (204-82) notched a double-double by scoring 13 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) to lead the effort and center Jonathan Tornato (210-89) supported him with 20 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Even a double-double of 20 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists by Lithuanian forward Vaidotas Pridotkas (200-84) did not help to save the game for Etendard de Brest. Spanish center Rafael Lopez (204-86) added 19 points and 14 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Blois have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Souffel and Orchy. Loser Etendard de Brest dropped to the tenth position with nine games lost. They share it with Challans. Blois will meet Souffelweyersheim (#4) in the next round. Etendard de Brest will play against Orchesien BC (#5) in Orchies and hope to secure a win.
