Regular Season Round 18: CFBB - Rueil 66-75
Date: January 28, 2012
Not a big story in a game when 17th ranked CFBB (2-16) lost to fourteenth ranked Rueil (7-11) in Paris 66-75. After very bad start, CFBB stormed back in the second period cutting the deficit to 3 points 38-35. But it was not enough and Rueil took back the control in second half. They shot 60.9 percent from the field. Rueil had a 29-15 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Moroccan forward Karim Gourari (195-84) who scored 19 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Naturalized Serbian center Streten Cabarkapa (204-84) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds. Four Rueil players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Mouhammadou Jaiteh (201-94) who recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds and guard Anthony Racine (190-94) added 15 points and 6 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) respectively. CFBB's coach Jacques Commeres rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Rueil maintains fourteenth position with 7-11 record. CFBB at the other side keeps the seventeenth place with 16 games lost. Rueil's next round opponent will be Stade Clermont (#15) at home. CFBB will play against Vendee Challans.
