Regular Season Round 16: Helsingborg - Eos 77-60

No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Helsingborg (7-8) won against at home 10th ranked IK Eos (3-12) 77-60 on Saturday. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Helsingborg's pressure prevailed and they won that period 23-12 extending their advantage to 17 points. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to IK Eos' 24. They outrebounded IK Eos 49-36 including 35 on the defensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Helsingborg made 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Rikard Flink (200-83) who helped to win the game recording 14 points, 9 rebounds and 5 blocks and naturalized Serbian forward Stefan Radojevic (196-91) who added 12 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Five Helsingborg players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Adnan Karovic (187-88) responded with 20 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and Nils Gjorup (-92) scored 5 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Helsingborg maintains sixth position in South with 7-8 record. Loser IK Eos dropped to the eleventh place with 12 games lost. Helsingborg will face Solna Branten (#7) at home in the next round. IK Eos will play against Sanda Basket (#10) in Huskvarna and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
