Regular Season Round 31: Miyazaki SS - Shiga L-Stars 70-80

Rather predictable result when fourth ranked Shiga L-Stars (18-9) defeated on the road 7th ranked Miyazaki Shining Suns (12-17) 80-70 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Shiga L-Stars. Miyazaki Shining Suns was better in third quarter 20-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for American forward Ray Nixon (203-84, college: Wisconsin) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points. Trinidad and Tobago power forward Julius Ashby (205-82, college: Colorado) helped adding 14 points and 10 rebounds. At the losing side American center Darryl Dora (206-85, college: Texas Tech) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import forward O'Neal Mims (208-83, college: Angelo St.) scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. Five Shiga L-Stars and four Miyazaki Shining Suns players scored in double figures. Shiga L-Stars maintains fourth place with 18-9 record. Miyazaki Shining Suns lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 17 games lost. Shiga L-Stars will have a break next round. Miyazaki Shining Suns will play again at home against Shiga L-Stars (#4).
