Everything went according to plan when first ranked Ottawa (15-2) outscored at home 6th ranked York (6-11) 73-47 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Ottawa. York was better in third quarter 23-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded York 39-22 including a 28-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. International guard Kellie Ring (178-93) stepped up and scored 17 points and 7 assists for the winners and center Hannah Sunley-Paisley (186) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. Ottawa's coach Andy Sparks felt very confident using 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was forward Llyandra Kerr (175) with 13 points and 7 rebounds and guard Kayla Pangos (165) scored 6 points and 4 assists. The victory was the fifteenth consecutive win for Ottawa. They maintain first place with 15-2 record, which they share with Windsor. York lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the sixth position with 11 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
