Very expected game when 7th ranked Shinshu BW (11-17) was crushed on the road by first ranked Okinawa GK (22-6) 75-56 on Sunday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. Worth to mention a great performance of center Jeff Newton (205-81, college: Indiana) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 16 rebounds and Anthony McHenry (202-83, college: Georgia Tech) who added 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Five Okinawa GK players scored in double figures. Okinawa GK's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Tyler Hughes (213-84, college: Kansas St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds and power forward Edward Morris (205-84, college: Pittsburg St.) scored 11 points. Okinawa GK maintains first position with 22-6 record. Shinshu BW lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth place with 17 games lost. Okinawa GK will face Takamatsu FA (#9) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Shinshu BW will play against the league's second-placed Akita Happinets.
