There was a surprise result when twelfth ranked Pall.Piemonte (5-12) defeated on the road higher ranked Milano (12-4) 59-48 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Pall.Piemonte. Milano was better in second period 11-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Pall.Piemonte held Milano to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 38.6 percent accuracy of the winners. Pall.Piemonte forced 22 Milano turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Costanza Coen (190-90) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and guard Alice Quarta (175-91) who added 10 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Pall.Piemonte players scored in double figures. At the losing side power forward Ntumba Madelene Mitongu (180-81) responded with 7 points and 11 rebounds and Swedish center Jenny Lidgren (191-88) scored 8 points and 9 rebounds. Pall.Piemonte moved-up to eleventh place in North. Loser Milano keeps the third position with four games lost. Pall.Piemonte will face higher ranked Udine (#7) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Milano will play against Terme di Cervia (#10).
