Regular Season Round 23: UPEI - Memorial 100-89

There was no surprise in Charlottetown, PEI where 8th ranked Sea Hawks (1-13) were defeated by first ranked Panthers (11-3) 100-89 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Panthers. Sea Hawks was better in fourth quarter 23-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Panthers forced 21 Sea Hawks turnovers. The best player for the winners was guard Terrence Brown (186) who scored 28 points and 5 rebounds. Sudanese forward Manock Lual (198-89) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Panthers players scored in double figures. Forward Robbie Habib (193-89) produced 33 points (!!!) and naturalized British swingman Mike Helsby (195-89) added 8 points, 15 rebounds and 14 assists respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Panthers have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 11-3 record, which they share with Victoria. Sea Hawks lost twelfth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 13 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
