Very expected game in Kariya where 6th ranked Mitsubishi Dolphins (10-16) were defeated by second ranked Aishin Sea Horses (19-7) 83-78. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Aishin Sea Horses made 18-of-22 charity shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international power forward J.R. Sakuragi (206-76, college: UCLA) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds. American forward Anthony Richardson (201-83, college: Florida St., agency: TSS Management) contributed with 21 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American forward Ron Hale (203-77, college: Florida St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds and the former international guard Kei Igarashi (180-80) added 19 points in the effort for Mitsubishi Dolphins. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Defending champion maintains second place with 19-7 record behind leader Toyota Alvark. Mitsubishi Dolphins lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with 16 games lost. Aishin Sea Horses' next round opponent will be league's leader Toyota Alvark in Fuchu and it will be for sure the game of the week. Mitsubishi Dolphins will play at home against Hitachi Sunrockers (#3) in Osaka.
