Regular Season Round 27: Jilin NE T. - Guangdong ST 94-107

CBA top team - Guandong Tigers (22-4) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat twelfth ranked Jilin Tigers (11-14) in Changchun 107-94. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Jilin Tigers. The game was mostly controlled by Guandong Tigers. Jilin Tigers was better in fourth quarter 28-27. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Guandong Tigers dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Jilin Tigers' 50. Guandong Tigers forced 20 Jilin Tigers turnovers. It was a great evening for American forward James Singleton (203-81, college: Murray St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international forward Peng Zhou (207-89) helped adding 24 points. Four Guandong Tigers players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American power forward Jameel Watkins (211-77, college: Georgetown) with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import swingman Cartier Martin (201-84, college: Kansas St.) scored 22 points (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guandong Tigers have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain first place with 22-4 record. Jilin Tigers at the other side keep the twelfth position with 14 games lost. Guandong Tigers will play against Liaoning Hunters (#5) in Yingkou in the next round. Jilin Tigers will play on the road against DongGuan Leopards (#3) and hope to get back on the winning track.
