Very expected game when 17th ranked Foshan (6-19) lost to eleventh ranked Xinjiang Flying Tige (12-12) in Urumqi 94-103 on Sunday. Foshan trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 24-21 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 94-103 at the end of the game. It was a good game for American swingman Tim Pickett (193-81, college: Florida St.) who led his team to a victory with 24 points and 6 rebounds. The former international center Bateer Mengke (210-75) contributed with 11 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Five Xinjiang Flying Tige players scored in double figures. Syrian guard Michel Maadanly (195-81) answered with 22 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists and center Zhun Zheng (214-92) added 25 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Foshan. Foshan's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Xinjiang Flying Tige moved-up to tenth place. Foshan lost their sixth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 19 games lost. Xinjiang Flying Tige will face higher ranked Shanghai Sharks (#6) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Foshan will play against Shanxi Zhongyu (#8) in Taiyuan.
