Bottom-ranked Novipiu CM managed to get a fifth victory, breaking the series of five consecutive loses. This time newly promoted Novipiu CM edged sixteenth-ranked Vanoli-Braga in Cremona 74-73. Vanoli-Braga was ahead by 6 points after three quarters before a 16-10 charge of Novipiu CM, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 14-13. Novipiu CM forced 19 Vanoli-Braga turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Serbian power forward Oliver Stevic (204-84, agency: Beo Basket) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). American guard Matt Janning (196-88, college: Northeastern, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) contributed with 15 points for the winners. Novipiu CM's coach Marco Crespi allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The former international guard Daniele Cinciarini (194-83) answered with 19 points and American swingman David Lighty (195-88, college: Ohio St.) added 11 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Vanoli-Braga. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Novipiu CM (5-13) moved-up to sixteenth place, which they share with Vanoli CR. Vanoli-Braga lost third consecutive game. Novipiu CM's next round opponent will be higher ranked Cimberio Varese (#9) at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Vanoli-Braga will play against Banco di Sard. (#8) in Sassari.
