Regular Season Round 32: Sendai 89ers - Chiba Jets 75-85

Chiba Jets' road win over one of their biggest challengers Sendai 89ers 85-75 was very exciting. The guests trailed by 5 points after three quarters before their 34-19 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Chiba Jets made 29-of-37 free shots (78.4 percent) during the game, while Sendai 89ers only scored ten points from the stripe. Sendai 89ers were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Maurice Hargrow (193-83, college: Minnesota) who helped to win the game recording 27 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and the other American import guard Jamel Staten (198-83, college: Minnesota St.) who added 21 points and 15 rebounds during the contest. American forward Johnny Dukes (203-84, college: San Bernardino CC) responded with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and Croatian forward Filip Toncinic (212-84, college: Texas A&M-CC) scored 9 points and 12 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Chiba Jets (11-15) moved-up to seventh place. Loser Sendai 89ers dropped to the sixth position with 15 games lost. Chiba Jets will face Saitama Broncos (#9) at home in the next round.
