Regular Season Round 27: Guangsha L. - DongGuan L. 114-109

The game between third ranked DongGuan Leopards (16-10) and fourth ranked Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (15-10) was the most important one in the last round on Sunday night. DongGuan Leopards were defeated by Zhejiang Guangsha Lions in a tough game in Hangzhou 109-114. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 32-23. But DongGuan Leopards won third quarter 28-24. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded DongGuan Leopards 43-31 including 30 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for American forward Wilson Chandler (203-87, college: De Paul) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds. American-Puerto Rican center Peter John Ramos (222-85) contributed with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions' coach Jim Cleamons used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Nigerian-American guard Josh-Emmanuel Akognon (180-86, college: CS Fullerton) answered with 40 points (!!!) and 5 assists and American forward Shavlik Randolph (208-83, college: Duke) added 29 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for DongGuan Leopards. Five Zhejiang Guangsha Lions and four DongGuan Leopards players scored in double figures. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions maintains fourth place with 15-10 record. DongGuan Leopards at the other side keep the third position with ten games lost. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions are looking forward to face Fujian SBS XunXin (#7) in Jinjiang in the next round. DongGuan Leopards will play at home against Jilin Tigers (#12) in Changchun and are hoping to win this game.
