Regular Season Round 26: Fujitsu RW - JX Sunflowers 88-82

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked JX Sunflowers (22-4) in Kawasaki on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by fourth ranked Fujitsu RW (16-10) 88-82. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of JX Sunflowers. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 50-43 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Swingman Tika Yamamoto (175-91) scored 21 points to lead the charge for the winners and power forward Megumi Shinohara (184-91) chipped in 13 points during the contest. Four Fujitsu RW players scored in double figures. The former international power forward Yuka Mamiya (184-90) responded with 38 points (!!!) (on 17-of-20 shooting from the field) and power forward Lynn Kibayashi (184-89) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. Fujitsu RW maintains fourth position with 16-10 record. Defending champion JX Sunflowers still keep top place with four games lost. They share the position with Toyota A.. Fujitsu RW are looking forward to face league's second-placed Toyota A. in Nagoya in the next round and it may be the game of the week. JX Sunflowers will play on the road against Airlines R. in Tokyo and are hoping to win this game.
