Important game to mention about took place in Nagoya. Fifth ranked Mitsubishi K. (11-15) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 6th ranked Chanson V-M (9-17) 63-61 in the fight for the fifth place. It looked good early as Chanson V-M took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Mitsubishi K. had a 22-16 second period charge getting the lead and Chanson V-M was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 61-63. Center Enjin Wantsu (189-87) notched 19 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and guard Yasuko Hashimoto (163-82) supported her with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Mitsubishi K.'s coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists by guard Makoto Rin (168-88) did not help to save the game for Chanson V-M. The former international power forward Yuka Watanabe (181-81) added 16 points and 8 rebounds for the guests. Four Chanson V-M players scored in double figures. Mitsubishi K. maintains fifth position with 11-15 record. Chanson V-M lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 17 games lost. Mitsubishi K. will play against higher ranked Denso Iris (#3) in Kariya in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Chanson V-M will play on the road against Aishin Wings in Anjo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
