Regular Season Round 6: Basquete Clube - Blumenau 63-77

The biggest surprise of round 6 was guest Blumenau's (3-7) road victory over Basquete Clube (#8) 77-63 on Monday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Blumenau. Basquete Clube managed to win fourth quarter 19-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Blumenau made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Blumenau had a 33-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Cuban forward Yulianne Rodriguez (185-82) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Mariana Camargo (180-85, college: ORU) chipped in 10 points and 7 rebounds. Four Blumenau players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was center Fernanda Bibiano (193-85) who recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and guard Fernanda Santana (180-84) added 16 points respectively. Blumenau moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Maranhao. Basquete Clube lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with eight games lost. Blumenau is looking forward to face higher ranked Ourinhos (#5) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Basquete Clube will play against Poty/Acucar in Caranduva and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
