Regular Season Round 16: Hod Hasharon - Kiryat Tivon 77-75

The most exciting game of round 16 in the National League took place in Hod Hasharon. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked Kiryat Tivon (8-8) to seventh ranked Hod Hasharon (8-8) 77-75 in the game for the fifth place. Kiryat Tivon cut a 21-point first quarter deficit to two at the end of the game. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized Latvian swingman Gary Gandel (203-80) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds and the former international guard Avi Sukar (187-76) who added 18 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists during the contest. Four Hod Hasharon players scored in double figures. At the losing side American-Puerto Rican Ramon Clemente (200-85, college: Wichita St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 18 rebounds and American-Cape Verdean guard Joshua Gomes (190-83, college: E.Illinois) scored 24 points and 4 assists. Hod Hasharon moved-up to fifth place, which they share with defeated Kiryat Tivon. Kiryat Tivon lost third consecutive game. Hod Hasharon is looking forward to face league's leader Beer Yaakov on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Kiryat Tivon will play against Elitzur Ramla (#11) and is hoping to win this game.
