Regular Season Round 6: Al Jaysh - Al Rayyan 63-86

Another interesting game was again a derby match of two local teams from Doha: Al Rayyan (#1) and Al Jaysh (#3). Al Jaysh was smashed at home by 23 points 63-86 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Al Jaysh. Al Rayyan dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Al Jaysh's 34. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Yasseen Ismail (204-80) who scored 25 points and 8 rebounds. International forward Tanguy Ngombo (197-84) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. Four Al Rayyan players scored in double figures. Al Rayyan's coach felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was international forward Baker Ahmad (199-86) who recorded 21 points and 7 rebounds and naturalized Lebanese guard Fadi Hani (184) added 10 points and 5 assists respectively. Al Rayyan (6-0) have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with a perfect record of 6 victories in a row. Loser Al Jaysh dropped to the fifth place with three games lost. Al Rayyan's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Doha As Sadd.
