Regular Season Round 24: Windsor - Laurier 77-79

The most exciting game of round 24 in the CIS took place in Windsor, ON. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of one of their biggest challengers Lancers (11-6) to second ranked Golden Hawks (15-2) 79-77 in the game for the first place. The guests trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 30-14 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Golden Hawks outrebounded Lancers 55-42 including 19 on the offensive glass. It was a good game for forward Maxwell Allin (193) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists. Center Matthew Buckley (215) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 18 rebounds for the winners. Golden Hawks' coach Peter Campbell used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Guard Josh Collins (186-90) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 5 rebounds, 12 assists and 4 steals and guard Enrico Diloreto (186-90) added 23 points in the effort for Lancers. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Golden Hawks have an impressive six-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Lancers lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the second place with six games lost. They share the position with Ottawa. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
