Regular Season Round 28: Zhejiang CB - Qingdao E. 122-110

There was no surprise in Hangzhou where 11th ranked Qingdao Double Star (12-15) was defeated by ninth ranked Zhejiang Cyclones (14-11) 122-110 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Zhejiang Cyclones. Qingdao Double Star was better in second period 30-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Zhejiang Cyclones forced 19 Qingdao Double Star turnovers. Strangely Qingdao Double Star outrebounded Zhejiang Cyclones 54-40 including 25 on the offensive glass. Qingdao Double Star was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard J.R. Smith (198-85) who helped to win the game recording 60 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds and the other American import power forward Josh Boone (208-84, college: Connecticut) who added 18 points and 11 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) during the contest. At the losing side American guard Lester Hudson (191-84, college: Tenn-Martin) responded with 39 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 4 assists and Nigerian-British power forward Olumide Oyedeji (208-81) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points, 13 rebounds and 8 assists. Four Zhejiang Cyclones and five Qingdao Double Star players scored in double figures. Qingdao Double Star's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Zhejiang Cyclones moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Shanxi Zh. Qingdao Double Star at the other side keeps the eleventh position with 15 games lost. Zhejiang Cyclones will face Shandong Bulls (#13) in Jinan in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Qingdao Double Star will play on the road against Jiangsu Dragons in Nanjing.
