No shocking result in a game in Winnipeg where third ranked Calgary (12-5) defeated 12th ranked Manitoba (3-14) 87-69 on Thursday. The game without a history. Calgary led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Manitoba's 26 and made 23-of-30 free shots (76.7 percent) during the game, while Manitoba only scored seven points from the stripe. They outrebounded Manitoba 43-32 including 30 on the defensive glass. Forward Jenna Kaye (168) fired 16 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Forward Jessica Franz (185) chipped in 18 points and 9 rebounds. Four Calgary players scored in double figures. Forward Allison Balasko (180) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 15 rebounds and guard Robyn Eyer (170) added 19 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Calgary have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Toronto Univ. and Carleton. Manitoba lost eleventh consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with 14 games lost.
