Not a big story in a game when 14th ranked Heat (2-13) was outscored by second ranked Vikies (12-3) in Kelowna, BC 76-49 on Friday. The game without a history. Vikies led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Vikies outrebounded Heat 45-23 including a 31-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for guard Ryan Mackinnon (193-89) who helped to win the game recording 21 points. Terrell Evans contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Yassine Ghomari answered with 10 points and Bret Macdonald added 9 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Heat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Vikies used an opportunity after UBC lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Heat lost their seventh game in a row. They keep the fourteenth place with 13 games lost. Vikies will have a break next round. Heat will play again at home against the league's second-placed Vikies (#2) in Victoria, BC.
