There was no surprise in Nanjing where 16th ranked Jiangsu Dragons (7-20) were defeated by eleventh ranked Qingdao Double Star (13-15) 97-92 on Friday. The guests trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 25-19 charge, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was Nigerian-British power forward Olumide Oyedeji (208-81) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points, 18 rebounds and 6 assists. American guard Lester Hudson (191-84, college: Tenn-Martin) chipped in 27 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Qingdao Double Star's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American-Lebanese power forward Jackson Vroman (208-81, college: Iowa St.) produced a double-double by scoring 25 points and 20 rebounds and international swingman Li Yi (203-85) added 21 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Qingdao Double Star maintains eleventh place with 13-15 record. Jiangsu Dragons lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixteenth position with 20 games lost. Qingdao Double Star are looking forward to face league's second-placed Beijing Ducks at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Jiangsu Dragons will play against Shandong Bulls (#13) in Jinan and are hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
