Second Stage Round 19: Libertad S. - La Union 73-75

The game between third ranked Libertad Sunchales (13-6) and ninth ranked La Union (9-10) was the most important one in the last round on Friday night. Libertad Sunchales was edged by La Union in a tough game in Sunchales 73-75. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Libertad Sunchales. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Libertad Sunchales won third quarter 24-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. La Union made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for American forward Gregory Lewis (198-78, college: Winthrop, agency: Dream Team Management) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds. The former international forward Gabriel Mikulas (201-80, college: E.Carolina, agency: Interperformances) helped adding 21 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side American center Robert Battle (204-81, college: Drexel, agency: Dream Team Management) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and guard Jonatan Treise (182-85) scored 17 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. La Union moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Quimsa. Libertad Sunchales at the other side keeps the third position with six games lost. They share it with Sionista. La Union is looking forward to face Quimsa (#9) in Santiado Estero in the next round. Libertad Sunchales will play at home against Regatas Corrientes (#7) and is hoping to win this game.
