There was no surprise when 17th ranked Foshan (6-21) was defeated at home by fifteenth ranked Bayi Fubang (9-17) 116-106 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Bayi Fubang. Foshan managed to win fourth quarter 32-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Lei Wang (203-86) who scored 29 points. The former international center ZhiZhi Wang (214-77) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. Bayi Fubang's coach Chang Bin Adijan used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Marcus Haislip (208-80, college: Tennessee) produced 24 points and 5 rebounds and Syrian guard Michel Maadanly (195-81) added 18 points respectively for the hosts. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Bayi Fubang maintains fifteenth place with 9-17 record. Foshan lost eighth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 21 games lost. Bayi Fubang are looking forward to face higher ranked Shanghai Sharks (#10) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Foshan will play against Zhejiang Cyclones (#6) in Hangzhou and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
