Very important is a home loss of third ranked BC Rakvere (12-6) against fourth ranked Rapla (11-8) on Friday night. Host BC Rakvere was defeated by Rapla in Rakvere 105-88. The game was mostly controlled by Rapla. BC Rakvere managed to win third quarter 26-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Rapla shot 61.3 percent from the field and made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. Strangely BC Rakvere outrebounded Rapla 37-22 including a 22-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Swingman Sven Kaldre (197-91) fired 27 points for the winners. Swingman Janar Soo (199-91) chipped in 27 points. Latvian center Kaspars Cipruss (210-82, agency: Interperformances) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 15 rebounds and the former international guard Valmo Kriisa (190-74) added 16 points and 6 assists respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. BC Rakvere's coach rotated twelve players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the third consecutive win for Rapla. They maintain fourth place with 11-8 record. BC Rakvere at the other side keeps the third position with six games lost. Rapla will meet league's leader Tartu Ulikool on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. BC Rakvere will play against Valga/CKE and hope to secure a win.
