Fourteenth-ranked Quilmes MP (5-14) gave a tough game to fourth ranked Sionista (13-6) in Parana. Sionista managed to secure only seven-point victory 89-82. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Quilmes MP. Quilmes MP was ahead by 1 point at the halftime before a 23-20 third quarter run of Sionista. They tied the game at the end of regular time. Then they were better in overtime eventually winning that period 11-4. Sionista forced 20 Quilmes MP turnovers. Quilmes MP was plagued by 32 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for Puerto Rican guard Johwen Villegas (193-85, college: FIU) who led the winners and scored 26 points and 5 rebounds. American power forward Hakeem Rollins (202-83, college: Washington, agency: Dream Team Management) accounted for 13 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. Sionista's coach Sebastian Svetliza allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Naturalized American guard Phillip McHopson (188-87, college: Idaho) came up with 19 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and American-Venezuelan forward Clarence Matthews (201-83, college: Tennessee St.) added 14 points respectively for Quilmes MP in the defeat. Five Sionista and four Quilmes MP players scored in double figures. Sionista moved-up to third place, which they share with Libertad S. Newly promoted Quilmes MP keeps the fourteenth position with 14 games lost. They share it with San Mart.C.. Sionista will play against Lanus (#6) in Buenos Aires in the next round. Quilmes MP will play on the road against San Martin Corrientes (#15) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
