Regular Season Round 30: KTP - Salon Vilpas 90-69

Everything could happen in Kotka at the game between two tied teams. Both seventh ranked KTP-Basket and 8th ranked Salon Vilpas had identical 11-16 record. This time KTP-Basket used a home court advantage and smashed the opponent from Salon 90-69. Salon Vilpas was ahead by 5 points at the halftime before a 56-30 second half run of KTP-Basket. They also forced 22 Salon Vilpas turnovers. It was a great shooting night for KTP-Basket especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. Forward Tim Blue (205-84, college: Middle Tenn.St.) notched a double-double by scoring 26 points and 13 rebounds to lead the effort and swingman Tony Crocker (201-87, college: Oklahoma) supported him with 25 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Four KTP-Basket players scored in double figures. Even 23 points by guard Emmanuel Holloway (188-86, college: Illinois St.) did not help to save the game for Salon Vilpas. Forward Allen Durham (198-88, college: Grace Bible) added 10 points and 9 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. KTP-Basket have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place. Salon Vilpas at the other side keeps the eighth position with 17 games lost. KTP-Basket will play against UU-Korihait (#10) in Uusikaupunki in the next round. Salon Vilpas will play at home against the league's second-placed Loimaan Korikonkarit and hopes to get back on the winning track.
