There was a small surprise when ninth ranked Saitama Broncos (8-19) beat on the road 7th ranked Chiba Jets (12-16) 93-79 on Friday. The guests trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 34-18 charge, which allowed them to win the game. American players dominated the game. The best player for the winners was forward John Flowers (200-89, college: W.Virginia, agency: KMG Sports Management) who scored 34 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds. Swingman John Humphrey (188-80, college: Middle Tenn.St., agency: Court Side) chipped in 31 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Maurice Hargrow (193-83, college: Minnesota) who recorded 26 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Jamel Staten (198-83, college: Minnesota St.) added 22 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Saitama Broncos maintains ninth place with 8-19 record. Loser Chiba Jets keep the seventh position with 16 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
