We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 7th ranked Logan Thunder (10-9) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked Canberra Capitals (8-12) 65-57 on Friday. Logan Thunder trailed by 16 points after 3 quarters before a 16-8 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 57-65 at the end of the game. Canberra Capitals dominated on the defensive end, holding Logan Thunder to just 7 points in second quarter. Canberra Capitals forced 19 Logan Thunder turnovers and outrebounded them 49-30 including a 29-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Forward Brigitte Ardossi (188-87, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Josep and Nicolas) fired 12 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. The former international swingman Michelle Cosier (176-82) chipped in 10 points and 9 rebounds. International center Cayla Francis (192-89) produced 8 points and 7 rebounds and guard Sarah Graham (163-89) added 10 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Canberra Capitals maintains eighth position with 8-12 record. Logan Thunder lost third consecutive game.
