No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Golden Bears (11-6) beat 11th ranked Cougars (5-11) in Regina, SK 81-69 on Friday. The game without a history. Golden Bears led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Golden Bears forced 19 Cougars turnovers. It was a very good performance for international guard Jordan Baker (192-91, college: Utah Valley) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 17 rebounds. Swingman Daniel Ferguson (191, college: Valdosta St.) contributed with 26 points and 4 assists for the winners. Golden Bears' coach Greg Francis let to play all 12 players saving starting five for next games. Forward Connor Burns (201) answered with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Paul Gareau (201) added 11 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Cougars. Four Cougars players scored in double figures. Golden Bears moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Windsor. Loser Cougars dropped to the twelfth position with 11 games lost. Golden Bears will have a break next round. Cougars will play again at home against Golden Bears (#5) in Edmonton, AB.
