Very expected game when 14th ranked TianJin Rongcheng (10-18) was defeated on the road by second ranked Beijing Ducks (19-8) 122-112 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Beijing Ducks. TianJin Rongcheng managed to win second period 30-26. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Beijing Ducks made 40-of-48 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game, while TianJin Rongcheng only scored twenty four points from the stripe. 36 personal fouls committed by TianJin Rongcheng helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American guard Stephon Marbury (188-77, college: Georgia Tech) who scored 33 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 8 assists. His fellow American import power forward Randolph Morris (211-86, college: Kentucky) chipped in 32 points and 8 rebounds. American power forward Donnell Harvey (203-80, college: Florida) produced a double-double by scoring 43 points (!!!) and 20 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and Ivorian-French power forward Mamadou Lamizana (207-81, college: Rutgers, agency: VVG Sports) added 20 points and 13 rebounds respectively for the guests. Five Beijing Ducks and four TianJin Rongcheng players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Beijing Ducks have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 19-8 record having four points less than leader Guandong ST. Loser TianJin Rongcheng keeps the fourteenth position with 18 games lost. Beijing Ducks are looking forward to face Qingdao Double Star (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. TianJin Rongcheng will have a break next round.
