Regular Season Round 23: RMC - Queen's 53-60

Date: February 3, 2012
Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Kingston: Queen's (#4) and RMC (#8). RMC was defeated at home 53-60 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 60-53. It was a great evening for guard Brittany Moore (168-89) who led her team to a victory scoring 29 points. Guard Liz Boag (160) helped adding 8 points and 7 assists. Queen's' coach Dave Wilson used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Sandy Edmison (183) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and guard Carley Lewis (178) scored 10 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Four RMC players scored in double figures. Queen's maintains fourth place with 9-8 record, which they share with McMaster. Loser RMC still closes the standings with 17 games lost. They share the position with Brandon. Queen's will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. RMC's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Kingston to the arena Queen's.
