Regular Season Round 23: Lakehead - Waterloo 70-50

No shocking result in a game in Thunder Bay where sixth ranked Lakehead (8-9) smashed 8th ranked Waterloo (1-16) 70-50 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Lakehead. Waterloo was better in third quarter 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lakehead forced 27 Waterloo turnovers. The best player for the winners was forward Lindsay Druery (185-88) who scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Lacey McNulty (188-87, college: Toledo) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Colleen Quinlan (173) produced 13 points and forward Theresa Jacobse (183) added 3 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Lakehead moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Western and Winnipeg. Waterloo lost fourteenth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 16 games lost. Lakehead will face again Waterloo (#8) at home in the next round.
