Regular Season Round 33: Shiga L-Stars - Osaka Evessa 69-70

The most exciting game of round 33 in the BJ League took place in Shiga. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 4th placed Shiga L-Stars (18-11) to third ranked Osaka Evessa (19-8) 70-69 on Saturday evening. The guests trailed by 7 points at the halftime before their 38-30 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Shiga L-Stars outrebounded Osaka Evessa 47-34 including 16 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was American forward Lynn Washington (200-78, college: Indiana) who scored 9 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. His fellow American import forward Michael Bell (206-82, college: Florida Atlantic) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds. Four Osaka Evessa players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Yu Okada (184-83) who recorded 22 points and Panamanian forward Dionisio Gomez Camargo (203-80, college: Arkansas) added 4 points and 13 rebounds respectively. Osaka Evessa maintains third place with 19-8 record having just 0 point less than leader Okinawa GK. Shiga L-Stars at the other side dropped to the second position with 11 games lost. They share it with Fukuoka Rizing and Akita NH. Osaka Evessa will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Shiga L-Stars will play again at home against Osaka Evessa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
