Regular Season Round 33: Kyoto Hannar. - Fukuoka Rizing 97-74

There was no surprise when 5th ranked Fukuoka Rizing (18-11) was crushed on the road by second ranked Kyoto Hannar. (20-7) 97-74 on Saturday. The game without a history. Kyoto Hannar. led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Kyoto Hannar. outrebounded Fukuoka Rizing 47-23 including a 33-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Fukuoka Rizing's players. The game was also dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was center Lance Allred (211-81, college: Weber St., agency: SportsTalent) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 18 rebounds. Lee Cummard (201-85, college: BYU, agency: Priority Sports) chipped in 16 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Kyoto Hannar.'s coach Honoo Hamaguchi felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Carlos Dixon (201-81, college: Virginia Tech) who recorded 19 points and 4 assists (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) and swingman Kevin Palmer (198-87, college: Texas A&M-CC, agency: VVG Sports) added 21 points respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Kyoto Hannar. maintains second place with 20-7 record having just -1 point less than leader Okinawa GK which they share with defeated Fukuoka Rizing. Loser Fukuoka Rizing dropped to the second position with 11 games lost. Kyoto Hannar. will face again Fukuoka Rizing (#5) at home in the next round.
