Leader Hamamatsu Phoenix delivered the eighteenth victory on Saturday night. This time they beat 6th ranked Shimane Magic (17-12) 79-62. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Shimane Magic. Hamamatsu Phoenix dominated on the defensive end, holding Shimane Magic to just 7 points in second quarter. Hamamatsu Phoenix forced 20 Shimane Magic turnovers. American forward Lawrence Blackledge (206-86, college: Marquette) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) for the winners and his fellow American import guard Wayne Arnold (193-84, college: Tennessee St., agency: ACMT) chipped in 21 points and 5 rebounds. Blackledge is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The best for the losing side was American forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Edward Yamamoto (173-86) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds.
