Very expected game when 12th ranked Cravic Reus (5-12) was smashed at home by second ranked Real Canoe (13-4) 76-47 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 7 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 76-47. Real Canoe dominated on the defensive end, holding Cravic Reus to just 4 points in fourth quarter. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. It was a good game for guard Lidia Gesteira (172-72) who led her team to a victory with 20 points. Lithuanian forward Dovile Miliauskaite (187-89, college: Towson) contributed with 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Senegalese forward Awa Doumbia (182-79) replied with 16 points and 6 rebounds and forward Ana Moreno (183-79) added 11 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Cravic Reus. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Real Canoe have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position in Group B with 13-4 record behind leader Pais Vasco, which they share with Casablanca and Conquero. Cravic Reus lost third consecutive game. They keep the twelfth place with 12 games lost. Real Canoe will face Space Tanit Eivissa (#5) at home in the next round. Cravic Reus will play against Casablanca (#4) in Zaragoza.
