There was no surprise in Nagoya where 7th ranked Mitsubishi Dolphins (11-17) were crushed by third ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (16-12) 81-60 on Saturday. The game without a history. Hitachi Sunrockers led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The best player for the winners was international power forward Joji Takeuchi (206-85, agency: N.E.T.) who scored 14 points. International guard Fumio Nishimura (177-86) chipped in 11 points and 4 assists. Five Hitachi Sunrockers players scored in double figures. American forward Ron Hale (203-77, college: Florida St.) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 16 rebounds and power forward Jun Uzawa (197-81) added 10 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hitachi Sunrockers maintains third position with 16-12 record having five points less than leader Aishin SH, which they share with Panasonic T. Mitsubishi Dolphins lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 17 games lost. Hitachi Sunrockers will face Hokkaido L. (#6) in Saporro in the next round. Mitsubishi Dolphins will play on the road against Tochigi Brex and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
