There was a minor upset in London, ON where 5th ranked Badgers (9-9) were crushed by seventh ranked Mustangs (7-11) 85-61 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Mustangs. Badgers was better in third quarter 29-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Badgers to just 7 points in fourth quarter. Mustangs dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Badgers' 24. They outrebounded Badgers 45-32 including 31 on the defensive glass. Forward Peter Scholtes (196) scored 21 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and guard Ryan Barbeau (178) chipped in 21 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Forward Brian Nahimana (206) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and forward Tshing Kasamba (196) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Four Badgers players scored in double figures. Badgers' coach gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Mustangs moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Toronto Univ. and Brandon. Loser Badgers dropped to the third position with nine games lost. Mustangs will face higher ranked Marauders (#3) in Hamilton, ON in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
