There was a minor upset when 10th ranked Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (9-10) was crushed on the road by twelfth ranked Assignia Manresa (9-10) 80-59 on Saturday. Assignia Manresa made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Baloncesto Fuenlabrada's players. It was a great evening for American-Dominican power forward Josh Asselin (211-78, college: Michigan, agency: Duran International) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points and 5 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). American guard Micah Downs (203-86, college: Gonzaga, agency: Priority Sports) helped adding 12 points. At the losing side point guard Joaquim Colom (188-88, agency: Interperformances) responded with 8 points and 4 assists and Senegalese center Michel Diouf (208-89) scored 8 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Assignia Manresa moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Valencia and Fuenlabrada. Assignia Manresa will face higher ranked Gescrap BB (#8) in Bilbao in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
