Regular Season Round 17: AEK/Argous - Arkadikos 81-103

Bottom-ranked AEK/Argous is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 17th consecutive match to fifth ranked Arkadikos (10-7) 103-81 on Saturday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Arkadikos. AEK/Argous managed to win third quarter 22-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 26-of-30 free shots (86.7 percent) during the game. Forward Panagiotis Ifantis (203-80, agency: FCM) nailed a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side and power forward Andronikos Gizogiannis (200-83, agency: FCM) accounted for 21 points and 8 rebounds. Arkadikos' coach felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Naturalized Serbian guard Alex Stevovic (191-90) came up with 26 points and Gianni Koukounias added 12 points and 11 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively for AEK/Argous in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Arkadikos. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with AEK and Lavrio. AEK/Argous lost their fourteenth game in a row. They still closes the standings. Arkadikos will meet at home Lavrio (#6) in the next round. AEK/Argous will play against the league's second-placed Apollon Patras (#2) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
