Regular Season Round 17: Cadi ICG S. - Ibiza 70-54

There was no surprise in Seu D'urgell where 14th ranked Ibiza (2-15) was defeated by eighth ranked Cadi la Seu (9-8) 70-54. It looked good early as Ibiza took an 2-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Cadi la Seu had a 23-14 second period charge getting the lead and Ibiza was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 54-70. Cadi la Seu dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Ibiza's 22. American center Mandisa Stevenson (191-82, college: Auburn) nailed a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) for the winning side and her fellow American import guard Adrianne Ross (173-84, college: TCU, agency: Merit Sports) accounted for 16 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. The former international center Aina Denti (195-85) came up with 13 points and 6 rebounds and guard Rosa Perez (169-81) added 14 points respectively for Ibiza in the defeat. Cadi la Seu moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Gran Canaria. Ibiza at the other side stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. Cadi la Seu will play against higher ranked Mann Filter (#3) in Zaragoza in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ibiza will play at home against Joventud Mariana (#6) in Soller and hopes to get back on the winning track.
