Regular Season Round 5: Pure Youth - Taiwan Beer 92-84

Rather expected game when 5th ranked Taiwan Beer (3-7) was defeated by second ranked Pure Youth (8-3) 92-84 on Saturday. Pure Youth started the game with a very strong first quarter 32-23. But Taiwan Beer won third quarter 21-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American power forward Quincy Davis (206-83, college: Tulane) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 17 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners and the former international swingman Hsin-An Chen (196-80) chipped in 11 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Pure Youth players scored in double figures. American forward Emmanuel Jones (200-85, college: UTPA) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks and international guard Chin-Min Yang (188-84) scored 19 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Pure Youth. They maintain second place with 8-3 record behind leader Dacin Tigers. Taiwan Beer lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the fifth position with seven games lost. Pure Youth will face Taiwan Mobile (#4) in the next round. Taiwan Beer will play against the league's leader Dacin Tigers.
