Regular Season Round 12: Dinamo Tbilisi - Kutaisi 79-55

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Kutaisi (8-3) against seventh ranked Dinamo Tbilisi (5-6) on Saturday night. Visiting Kutaisi was crushed by Dinamo Tbilisi in Tbilisi 79-55. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Kutaisi. It looked good early as Kutaisi took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Dinamo Tbilisi had a 20-15 second period charge getting the lead and Kutaisi was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 55-79. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Keyon Carter (203-88, college: ODU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and swingman Duda Sanadze (196-92) who added 19 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was center Richard Matiashvili (209-89) with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds and naturalized Azerbaijan forward Davit Barbakadze (203-82) scored 14 points. Kutaisi's coach Davit Ustiashvili gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Dinamo Tbilisi moved-up to sixth place, which they share with STU Tbilisi. Kutaisi at the other side dropped to the third position with three games lost. Dinamo Tbilisi will again play against higher ranked Kutaisi (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Kutaisi will have a break next round.
