Regular Season Round 27: Fujitsu RW - Toyota A. 62-61

The most exciting game of round 27 in the WJBL took place in Kawasaki. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of second-best Toyota A. (22-5) to fourth ranked Fujitsu RW (17-10) 62-61 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Toyota A.. The hosts trailed by 5 points after three quarters before their 20-14 charge, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was international forward Yoko Nagi (175-82) who scored 22 points and 9 rebounds. Power forward Ishikawa Mai (179-85) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was international guard Maya Kawahara (167-87) who recorded 19 points and 6 rebounds and the former international forward Ryoko Yano (178-78) added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Fujitsu RW maintains fourth place with 17-10 record. Toyota A. at the other side keeps the second position with five games lost. Fujitsu RW are again looking forward to face league's second-placed Toyota A. in Nagoya in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Toyota A. will have a break next round.
